WASHINGTON -- A veteran U.S. senator announced Tuesday that he is looking into generous salaries, luxury cars and private jets provided to six televangelists, including three who serve as regents for Oral Roberts University. Keep track of lost or stolen devices with Gadget Trak
PORTLAND, Ore. - iPod's, MP3s and GPS devices were all hot holiday gifts and if you got one, you might want to start thinking about how to protect it. There is some new technology out there that can help - it's called Gadget Trak. Whether your gadget is lost or stolen, this new computer software, developed right here in Portland, promises to help find it. Here's how it works - you log on to the company's Web site, download the software onto your gadget, register and you're ready to go. When your iPod, new digital camera or other device is lost or stolen, you log on to your account and activate tracking. The next time your device is connected to a computer, the software will communicate all sorts of information back to the company - everything from IP addresses to user names and location is tracked. If it is a laptop that was stolen, the software can even activate the computer's camera to record audio and video of whoever is using it. You can even customize a message for that person. The software may be really useful for people who store a lot of important information on their devices. "It's not just your phone, it's your life. If you really think about it, you have your photos, your contact information, people can steal your identity from the information on these things," said Gadget Trak Founder Ken Westin. You can use the software on almost anything that connects to a computer. However, if you want to track a laptop, the software only works with Macs right now. Gadget Trak costs anywhere from $12 to $20 a year depending on how many devices you have registered. If you own a PC, there are plenty of other options out there as well. .
Secret files against terror suspects revealed
As for Trudeau, perhaps you missed his performance during the October Crisis of 1970 or the fact that he alone amoung Canadan PM's in my lifetime stood up to the bullying of the Quebec separatists. Its ironic that you claim to defend Western values, but can't get beyond personal insults. Let me tell you...I'm well aware of the warts on my country. Given your sanctimonious tone early on, I just thought it prudent to remind you what the rest of the world sees. Your country claims to be the leader of the free world; all the rest of the world wants is for you to walk the talk. Perhaps the election this fall will move you in that direction. Expo Daily Round-Up: iPod gadgets and other goodies
The sun has set on Macworld Expo 2008, and what a week it was. For me, it started with keynote-pundit stalking, then a day of cameras and printers, then a deep-geek dive into storage stuff, and finally—in this installment—a Friday of fun: speakers, docks, FM tuners, and other iPod gadgetry; and then a top-quality laptop microphone, a tricky lens for my digital SLR, and more. .
Scunthorpe 1 Saints 1 - Pearson happy with first point
The players have been a bit low on confidence and it was important to come here and try and be slightly more organised than Tuesday night. From that you have a foundation to build on. "I said to the players "don't get carried away, it's a point" but it's a difficult place to come, they're scrapping for their lives. "We're off to a start and we face a difficult end to the season and how we move on will give us a better picture of where we're at." .
