Next Tuesday, the latest release is Justice League: The New Frontier, an animated version of Canadian Darwyn Cooke's universally hailed graphic novel, which is essentially his retro take on the formation of the world's greatest super team. With our super archival powers, we look at the various onscreen incarnations of the Justice League: Super Friends Running in various configurations from 1973 until 1986 on Saturday mornings (and still seen in reruns on Teletoon Retro), this is the super cheesy version, which at certain portions featured the Wonder Twins and Gleek, their caped blue monkey. Following on the Superman, Batman and Aquaman Filmation series, this was the first adaptation that brought the comic heroes together on the small screen. There were several iterations of this production, including TV-only characters that attempted to capture diversity, such as Black Lightning, Apache Chief and Samurai.
Candidates Urge Voter Turnout in Iowa
The only thing that counts is whether or not you show up to caucus," Democrat Barack Obama told a fired-up crowd of young and old packed into a high school gymnasium. Amid murmurs of "Amen!" at a pizza parlor in Sergeant Bluff, Republican Mike Huckabee urged hundreds: "Don't go alone. Take people with you. Fill up your car. Rent a van. Hijack your church's bus, whatever you've got to do to get people to the caucus who are going to vote for me." Candidates made the pitch repeatedly as they canvassed the state for Thursday's caucuses, the first votes of the presidential nominating process. At least 130,000 Democrats and 80,000 Republicans are expected to participate in 1,781 neighborhood meetings at schools, fire stations and community centers across Iowa on what is forecast to be a clear but cold night.
Xbox360 Game console: The N-Gen gaming console!
Gaming online is no less than an addiction for today's youth. Those who love it just don't care about the rest of the world. That is the reason why Microsoft has launched its second video gaming console by the name of Xbox360. It was developed in collaboration with IBM, ATI and SIS. The Xbox live allows players to play online and download games. A successor of the Xbox, the Xbox360 has already made its mark and is very popular among the video game lovers. It is giving a tough competition to Sony's Play station 3 and the Nintendo Wii. It was officially announced in 2005 and since then is gaining popularity. The Xbox 360 is available in three standard variants; the "Xbox 360 Arcade", the "Xbox 360", and the "Xbox 360 Elite". During its launch, the Xbox 360 was available in two configurations: the "Xbox 360" and the "Xbox 360 Core." The Elite package was launched later the "Xbox 360 Arcade" replaced the "Xbox 360 Core" in October 2007.
Las Vegas Housing Bubble Update
Eventually I decided to act on my basic understanding of the problem and ultimately sold my home late in the mania phase (end of 2004--just a bit early, but no one can pick THE top), and made out quite well. Later, though completely out of the housing ownership market and now renting, I continued on with my voracious research and gained a much better understanding of the myriad of complex economic issues that impacted this housing bubble. I eventually tried to pass my knowledge on to those around me, but to many, I was merely a gibbering lunatic who didn't know what the heck he was talking about. In due time, I became frustrated with my unsuccessful attempts in convincing these media-hyped & fed, brainwashed individuals, so I decided to take to the web--to possibly help others who were themselves trying to understand the developing situation.
Ebook Readers the Kindle, iLiad Reviewed
Last spring, I shared my thoughts on the first-generation Sony Reader (see SLJ March 2007 "Test Drive," p. 23). While I found the ebook reading device somewhat flawed, I was quite impressed with its paperlike and retina-friendly E Ink display. Since then, I’ve had the chance to track the evolution of this technology by testing two other products that feature E Ink, the iRex iLiad and the Amazon Kindle. The iLiad. www.irextechnologies.com/products/iliad. $699. Still stoked from my experience with the Sony Reader, I was literally trembling with geeky excitement when I opened up the package containing the iRex iLiad. After all, this ebook reader promised some real improvements. For starters, the iLiad boasted a bigger touch-sensitive screen (8.1 inch, 122mm by 163mm)—one you could actually jot and save notes on.
